The complete fight card for UFC 292 between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley has been released. It will take place at the TD Garden on August 19, 2023.
This will be the seventh time that the promotion visits Boston, and it will be their first appearance since UFC on ESPN aired the event between Weidman vs. Reyes in October 2019. The main event is expected to feature a bantamweight title fight between O’Malley and Sterling. In the co-main event, the women’s strawweight championship will be contested as Amanda Lemos will face off against Zhang Weili.
The event will also feature the finals of The Ultimate Fight Championship’s The Ultimate Fighter. It was previously scheduled to feature a middleweight bout between Dennis Tiuliulin and Gregory Rodrigues, but the fight was postponed due to the latter’s withdrawal.
Henry Cejudo, who used to be the flyweight champion, was supposed to fight Marlon Vera in a bantamweight bout. However, he withdrew from the fight due to a shoulder injury. Pedro Munhoz was then selected to replace him.
In addition, a bantamweight bout between Song Yadong and Rob Font was also changed. Due to the latter’s withdrawal, the fight was later rescheduled to take place against Cory Sandhagen, who was looking for a new opponent.
