On Saturday, Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will attempt to regain his title as the reigning super-middleweight champion when he fights against John Ryder in his home country.
Approximately 55,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Akron Stadium. It will be the first boxing match in Mexico for almost 12 years for Alvarez.
The event, which will be held as part of the country’s Cinco de Mayo holiday, is expected to be a huge success. It will feature Alvarez defending his various championship belts against Ryder, who is a mandatory challenger.
As a child, Alvarez used to sell ice cream in Guadalajara, which is where he grew up. He is now 32 years old and is enjoying the opportunity to fight in front of his home crowd.
During a recent training session in San Diego, Alvarez expressed his excitement and pride about bringing his fight to his home country. He said he is looking forward to giving the fans in his home country an opportunity to experience what he has been able to achieve in other places.
For a long time, he wanted to fight in his home country. He believes that this event is the best opportunity for him to fight in his hometown.
After a mixed martial arts event in 2022, which also marked his professional boxing debut, Alvarez is considered to be one of the best pound for pound fighters in the sport.
