For the longest time in the history of the UFC, fans have been asking what if Jon Jones would have fought in the heavyweight division instead. On Saturday night, at UFC 285, Jones will finally get the chance to put his name on the belt against Ciryl Gane.
Jones, who was the reigning light heavyweight champion, last fought in 2020. Due to a financial dispute with the organization, he decided to step away from his title and start training for a run in the heavyweight division. He will face off against Gane, who has been on a roll since losing his first attempt at becoming the undisputed champion. In his last fight, he defeated Tai Tuivasa by knockout.
In the co-main event, flyweight champion, Shevchenko, will defend her title against Alexa Grasso. This will be Shevchenko’s seventh successful defense of her title. Shevchenko is looking to extend her record and defeat Grasso by defeating her striking specialist.
