Donald Cerrone has a non-COVID related ailment and will be unable to face Joe Lauzon at tonight’s UFC 274 PPV, according to the early prelim program.
He was looking forward to fighting in front of his kid, and it was thought that this would be his last battle. This fight will be replaced by Khaos Williams and Randy Brown to open the main show.
This weekend, UFC 274 will be place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Two championship fights, including Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje in a lightweight match, headline a five-bout main show.
Oliveira’s championship was stripped after he failed to make weight on Friday, and Gaethje is now the only one of the two who can win the title in Saturday’s battle.
Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza will fight for the women’s strawweight title in the co-main event. The main event begins with a lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon.
Cerrone has endured a difficult three-year period. His last victory came in May of this year, and he has since lost five fights and drawn one. In May of 2021, he was knocked out in the first round of his last bout against Alex Morono.
Lauzon has not competed in the UFC since October of this year. He defeated Jonathan Pearce in the first round after only 1:33 of the fight. Lauzon left the UFC to focus on his gym in Raynham, Massachusetts, which he owns.
