Liverpool vs Bournemouth
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 7 March 2020
Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: Anfield (Liverpool).Bournemouth travel to Anfield to face a Liverpool team who eventually lost last weekend, eager to bounce back against one of the teams who are fighting to survive.
Liverpool eventually lost in the Premier League against Watford last weekend and it was their second defeat in three games. After losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League they bounced back immediately with a 3-2 win against West Ham. But also, then it was a tough match for the Reds and eventually the loss in the League came as well against a determined Watford. The 3-0 defeat might spur them on to get back on track, as it didn’t put a massive dent in their ultimate target of winning the League this term, but Bournemouth would be hoping to take advantage of the situation and go for another upset. It will be a big task at Anfield, one place they are still unbeaten this term.

Liverpool Team News

Naby Keita may come back into contention for this game in midfield, but captain Jordan Henderson remains sidelined and Xherdan Shaqiri is a longer-term absentee. After fielding a much-changed team in the FA Cup last time out, Liverpool should otherwise be back to full strength for this one – including a return for Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence.

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

  • Goalkeeper:Alisson
  • Defenders:Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson
  • Midfielders:Georginio Wijnaldum, Naby Keita, Fabinho
  • Forwards:Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane

Bournemouth Team News

Harry Wilson is ineligible to face his parent club, which is a blow for a Bournemouth team who have already had to juggle more than their fair share of unavailable players this season. Of the injury absentees, David Brooks seems to be the closest to fitness. Given Wilson was an unused sub last weekend, Bournemouth could be unchanged from the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

  • Goalkeeper:Aaron Ramsdale
  • Defenders:Jack Stacey, Steve Cook, Nathan Ake, Adam Smith
  • Midfielders:Philip Billing, Jefferson Lerma, Lewis Cook
  • Forwards:Joshua King, Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser
