We are Gameloft, a game publishing company based in France, with activities and players located all around the world. We offer free-to-play games for a very diverse audience, which includes children.

When you play our games, we collect, use and keep information about you and the device you play on (for example, your phone or tablet). This information is also called “personal information.”

We collect this information in order to provide you with game services, content and features that are suitable for young people and which are aligned with the laws that apply in your country. Rest assured that we collect and use as little information as possible (only what's really necessary)!

The information we collect about you and your device may be sent to different countries (for instance, Canada or the USA), as our trusted colleagues and partners may need it to help us provide you with the game services and features.

We keep your information for as long as you are playing the game. When you no longer play the game, we move your information to our archives and keep it safely for five (5) additional years. This may seem long, but we do so to ensure the safety of our games, and to help police or regulators verify this safety. At the end of this time, we completely delete your information!

We made this Privacy Policy to inform you about how and why we handle your information (in other words, about our "privacy practices"). We are glad that you are reading it, but before you play our game, make sure to reach out to your parent or guardian, because they must acknowledge and agree to the Privacy Policy for Parents.

DOWNLOADING & LAUNCHING THE GAME


When you download our game and you first launch it, we need to collect technical information about your device. We do so to make sure that the installation of the game goes well!

We also collect information about your general location (your country or state). Collecting information about your general location helps us to offer you the game in your language, and is also important for applying the correct laws depending on your country.

AGE GATE


When you start the game, you will see a screen asking for your age. We need this information to make sure that the game you will have access to is suitable to young audiences. 

To complete this screen, you must reach out to your parent or guardian. If they agree to let you access and play the game, they must acknowledge and agree to our legal documents, including our Privacy Policy for Parents. This step enables us to ensure that you are allowed to play.

PLAYING THE GAME


 

When you play the game, we collect information regarding your progression in the game (for instance, your wins and losses, and the levels you've completed). We keep this information safe, so you can go in and out of the game and never lose your achievements! We also collect technical information to keep checking that the game is working well and to fix it in case of a problem.

IN-GAME EVENTS

We organize events and challenges in our games! These are super exciting, but to keep protecting you and your information, we apply some restrictions to young users. For example, we will not allow you to share your results online, or to enter a challenge that requires giving us your name or your address to receive a prize.

ADVERTISING


 

To offer you the game for free, we show you in-game non-targeted advertising. This means that you may see advertising in-game, but we make sure that the ads are random, not directed to you as an individual, suitable for a young audience, and compliant with the laws of your country.

IN-APP PURCHASES

Our games are free to play, but some of our games contain the ability to buy some assets (such as a new car, clothes for your heroes, or virtual coins). These purchases may involve real money. Please reach out to your parent or guardian and ask for their permission and assistance when making any purchases! Always keep in mind that having their permission is super important, because purchases will cost them real money!

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

If you need help with your game, please ask your parent or guardian to reach out to our customer support! Customer support may ask your parent or guardian to provide additional information to better identify you and resolve your issue faster. As you must not share any information about yourself online, let your parent or guardian take over and talk with us directly!

PLAYTESTS

In some cases, we can contact your parent or guardian for you to participate in game testing! This game testing could be online or in our offices. We will organize these tests with your parent or guardian, and will ensure we have their authorization and that they're present in order to keep you safe at all times!

THERE ARE ALSO TYPES OF INFORMATION THAT WE DO NOT COLLECT, AND FEATURES THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO YOUNG PLAYERS...

GEOLOCATION


As we explained before, we need to collect general information about your location (such as your country or state), to provide you with the correct settings. However, we will never collect information about your address or ask you to tell us where you live.

It is important for you to always keep in mind that you should never tell anyone your home address in the games and online!

OTHER SAFETY MEASURES


As you are a child, and because we care about your safety and the safety of your personal information, some features are also limited/restricted for you:


- You cannot register your real name or any information that could identify you in the games' leaderboards — we will give you a nickname.

- You cannot give any permissions to activate certain features (for example, to receive notifications about the game or to activate your camera). 

- You cannot access external social networks and/or use external social media features from within our games — this is because we consider the use of social networks could sometimes be unsafe for young users. 

- In-game social features are also restricted — for instance, we do not offer open chat services to you, because you may be in contact with malicious people who could harass or harm you. It is also a way to prevent you from sharing personal information with someone you don't know in real life.

- We do not use tracking technologies (like cookies) in our games. Cookies are trackers that can be used on websites to monitor your behavior and preferences. The only thing we keep a record of is your game activity and progress!

We collaborate with some external companies to provide you with the game and the game features. Your safety and the protection of your personal information is our priority. This is why we select our partners with care and we verify that they behave properly with your personal information.

COULD YOUR INFORMATION TRAVEL AROUND THE GLOBE?


Yes! Gameloft has offices and partners all over the world. This is why we may to need send your personal information internally to other Gameloft offices, or to partners based in other countries. Don’t worry; we take care of your personal information’s safety during this transfer and when it reaches its destination!

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?


Security is our priority! This means that we have specific measures in place to guarantee the security of your personal information. We make sure that all of this information is stored safely and securely.

DO YOU HAVE RIGHTS REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION?

Yes, of course! As explained in this Privacy Policy, we collect and use your information for various reasons (to provide you with the game, show you advertising that is suitable to a young audience, etc.). You have the right, at any time, to go to your parent or guardian to ask them to request more details about the information we collect and use about you, and to request that we take actions regarding this information (for instance, to erase it from our systems and stop using it). To make this process easier, we created forms that your parent or guardian can fill out to reach out to us. We will do our best to answer their request within the shortest delay.
