Mourinho’s men had ended their previous league campaign with a six-match unbeaten run (four wins), and this stretch included victories against some of the best teams in the league – Leicester, Arsenal, and the Toffees itself.
At home, they are on a four-match winning run in official fixtures, and including friendlies, it’s a seven-game winning streak.
On the other hand, their counterparts had ended their league season with nine winless games from their last twelve attempts – and two of these wins had come against teams which had been promoted just at the end of the previous season.
On the road, they were winless in ten of their preceding fourteen match-ups, and none of their sole five PL wins on the road in the 2019-20 campaign had come against teams in the top-eight of the table.
Going on, the Spurs also do have a terrific h2h record against this opponent in the past decade. In fact, they have remained unbeaten against them since 2012, and have not lost at all in an h2h encounter at home since 2008.
Taking into account these observations, it’s more than clear that Tottenham are the favorites for this upcoming encounter, and it’s only logical to back them to deliver a good performance this weekend.
