Everton vs West Brom
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 19 September 2020
Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: Goodison Park.
Everton will look to make it three wins in a week to kick-off the new season when they take on West From on Saturday lunchtime.
Excitement levels have rocketed since last weekend’s fine victory at Tottenham, ending a seven-year wait for victory away at one of the so-called ‘big six’.
It could and should have been more, but that is only a minor quibble from an impressive performance that featured a fully-functioning midfield and the kind of left foot we have rarely seen in royal blue since Kevin Sheedy.
Everton vs West Brom: Head-to-head (h2h)
In the most recent head-to-head, Everton played West Bromwich Albion in 2018. It was a Premier League match. The match was a draw, with a final score of 1-1.
Looking back over the last decade, these two sides have played 17 times. Everton have run out winners in 7 of these head-to-head matches and West Bromwich Albion have won 4 times. A stalemate has occurred 6 times.
In those matches, there has been an average of 2.0 goals during regulation play. Everton have scored an average of 1.12; West Bromwich Albion score an average of 0.88 per outing.
Everton vs West Brom: Prediction
Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton grabbed the headlines with their opening day win over Tottenham and it was the manner of the win with their trio of new signings that was particularly impressive. James Rodriguez played well on his debut while Doucoure and Allan shone in central midfield so they have bolstered the core of the team which bodes well for the Toffees. They welcome newly-promoted West Brom who endured a baptism of fire last weekend losing 0-3 at home to Leicester. Slaven Bilic returns to his old stomping ground hoping for an improvement but this is a really tough assignment. Confidence at Goodison is high right now and Ancelotti’s men have far too much quality which should see them win by a two-goal margin or more here.
