After dropping their first Premier League points of the season, Chelsea will look to get back on track when they host Southampton on Saturday.

Despite the significant investment Todd Boehly made in the transfer market, the results of the season so far have not been good. Even though they are only four points away from safety, Southampton will be heading for the Championship next season if they don’t improve their current situation. The club has already lost two managers this season, and they are currently stuck in the bottom three.
This season, the two teams have faced off against each other twice. In the first match, the Saints won by a 2-1 score. However, in the Carabao Cup, the Blues needed penalties to advance.

Since the 2022/23 season started, no goals have been scored in the games involving Chelsea. However, with the appointment of caretaker manager, Selles, the Blues can finally end their poor run against Southampton.
The “new-manager bounce” is expected to occur again this weekend as Chelsea takes on Southampton. Although the Blues have not scored many goals this season, they should be too strong for the struggling Saints. According to The Hard Tackle, the hosts will be able to get a two-goal win through the efforts of Portuguese forward, Joao Felix.
