On August 8, Salzburg defeated Nice of France 4-1, however they will be coming off a 4-1 loss to Ajax of the Netherlands going into this game.
During the Champions League group stages of the previous campaign, Jesse Marsch’s team met Liverpool twice. The first time, a 4-3 loss at Anfield in October 2019, and the second time, a 2-0 loss at home two months later.
Over a thousand fans are expected to attend the game at the Red Bull Arena; Salzburg will conduct a vote among its season ticket holders to decide which supporters are permitted to attend.

Salzburg vs Liverpool Prediction
Salzburg, who had a fantastic season last year, has already claimed victory in the opening round of the 2017 Austrian league (3-0). Liverpool is still getting ready, but the team’s recent performances show promise as it regains its form.
The Reds are the better team and have more experience in this matchup. Little will change even if both clubs start non-core players because Liverpool and Salzburg are bred to play aggressively and effectively. There will, therefore, undoubtedly be goals in this game.
Klopp won’t take his players to Austria merely on a joyride; he wants to know who is capable of what, and everyone must demonstrate their value.
Therefore, the visitors must win. A week before the season begins, the German expert won’t accept loss at the hands of a below-average foe; instead, he wants a win to boost his confidence and give him momentum going into the Super Cup match versus Man City, a formidable opponent.

Samson Tijani and Ousmane Diakite, a midfield combo, are also dealing with more serious ailments; Tijani is recovering from a fractured leg, while Diakite is dealing with a torn cruciate ligament.
At 36, captain Andreas Ulmer should serve as the team’s lone veteran at left-back, while Sesko will anticipate starting up front despite rumors that Manchester United are closely monitoring his progress.
As for Liverpool, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are still on the sidelines, although Joe Gomez overcame an injury scare to make the bench for the hammering of Leipzig.
Alisson could be ready for the Community Shield, but with Caoimhin Kelleher still out, Adrian will still serve as the final line of defense, according to Klopp.
Nunez entering the lineup at the front of the assault would not be unexpected, and Naby Keita may get the start against his former team.
