Manchester United vs Chelsea
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 24 October 2020
Kick-off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: Old Trafford.
manchester United finally have some momentum behind them and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be confident of getting the better of an inconsistent Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils pulled off a fantastic 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League in midweek while Chelsea had to settle for a home draw against Sevilla.
The match will be vital in the race for the top four this season and with both sides having lost twice in the top flight already this season, defeat will put pressure on the losing team and manager.
Manchester United vs Chelsea: Head-to-head (h2h)
- The latest encounter had taken place just two months back, and then, Frank Lampard’s men recorded a 1-3 win on the road.
- Three of the previous four match-ups had three or more goals.
- Since 2001, only thrice have the hosts failed to score at this stadium.
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men had recorded four of the preceding five overall wins.
Manchester United vs Chelsea: Prediction
Manchester United come into the game on a high from their mid-week 2-1 victory over PSG in the Champions League whilst Chelsea had yet another mediocre performance, a 0-0 draw against Sevilla. A potential debut for Edison Cavani, perhaps off the bench, will fill United with added confidence and if Ole’s defence play as well as they did against PSG, both with defending and going forward, then Chelsea could be in trouble. Perhaps a week ago, many would have picked Chelsea as favourites but after their previous two games, Lampard’s men are starting to show their weakness. A United win, BTTS, over 2.5 goals and a potential Cavani debut goal is a lot to ask for, but under the current circumstances a possibility.
